Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Suman:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
I studied English Honours at Delhi University, but I always knew I wanted to do something creative. I was naturally drawn to personal growth and fashion, not just for looks, but for how it makes a person feel. I tried fashion designing, but soon realised it wasn’t for me. Personal styling felt more real and practical—something that could truly help people.
Even when I couldn’t find the right training, I didn’t stop learning. I completed my MA in English, did online courses, and kept building my confidence. Then life happened—I got married and became a mother—but my dream of building my own career stayed with me.
When I finally trained as a personal stylist, everything made sense. Today, I work with women to make styling accessible and meaningful—using fashion as a tool to build self-worth, confidence, and identity. When a woman feels seen, confident, and worthy, everything begins to shift.
How did you discover your passion?
I discovered my passion naturally while growing up. I was always drawn to fashion, grooming, and taking care of my appearance. I enjoyed buying clothes, looking put together, and learning how small details can change how you feel.
Watching style and transformation shows made this love even stronger. I’ve always been creative and curious to learn. Over time, my love for clothes, personal growth, and self-presentation turned into my profession—personal styling—where I help women understand the power of clothing and presence.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
What keeps me going is self-belief, constant self-improvement, and the desire to build a better life. My passion was always bigger than my fear. When I finally got a platform to share my talent, and people started seeing its value, my confidence grew. That’s when I knew—this is why I’m here.
My love for fashion and my wish to help women feel confident and beautiful truly drives me. The challenges, pain, and judgment only made me stronger. They pushed me to grow, learn, and become better. I wanted to create a career on my own terms, be financially independent, and build something meaningful.
Now, I want to keep growing and inspire others—because I know what’s possible when you believe in yourself.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in life?
I’ve learned some important lessons through life.
First, I chose arts in my 10th standard, even when teachers pushed me toward science. Arts wasn’t taken seriously, but my heart was in history and literature. That choice taught me to trust myself, take responsibility for my decisions, and believe in my potential—while still staying open to guidance.
Second, I learned that even close relationships can disappoint you. But honesty, pure intentions, and loyalty never lose value. Even if they aren’t seen by loved ones, they will matter deeply to someone else.
Finally, I’ve learned to never stop learning and stay grounded, even during success. Money matters, but time is the real investment—use it wisely to become your best self.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
The keys to success through my experiences are:
a) Consistency in your work, even on tough days
b) Mental peace, clarity, and inner alignment
c) Small positive habits that create big change
d) A clear vision for your life and career
e) Strong belief in yourself and your growth
f) Facing challenges, learning from them, and staying self-aware
g) Courage to show up and keep improving
What advice would you give students and young professionals?
Be clear about what you want to do in life and stay focused on it. Seek the right guidance, gain proper knowledge, and follow a clear path.
Try to discover your niche early and see how you can turn it into your career. Always be open to learning and building good habits. Work on shaping your mindset, improving yourself every day, and keep striving to become the best version of yourself.
What about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
What makes my journey exciting is that it blends everything I truly love—shopping, personal development, and helping women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered.
This field is deeply rewarding for me. Helping women feel confident and rediscover themselves through style is incredibly powerful. Styling goes beyond clothes; it becomes a tool for transformation.
Witnessing that journey, where women feel seen, gain clarity, and rediscover joy, is what makes my work so satisfying. This work doesn’t feel like a job; it feels meaningful, fun, and deeply fulfilling.
